Graduate Inquiries

Thank you for your interest in my research. Please note that our clinical science program faculty make admission decisions as a group, once we have reviewed all of the applications to our program. Thus, whether or not I will be admitting a student (or students) in any given year is determined by a combination of factors involving me, our lab and our research projects, and the entire clinical science program faculty. But I do always have graduate students in my lab and often take new students. Thus, if you are interested in Indiana University and/or my research, I would encourage you to learn more about my work (explore this website) and about IU’s program (look at both the department and clinical science program links), and then, please apply to IU!

  1. Please fill out a lab application and submit via email to ljjiang@iu.edu, cstomlin@iu.edu, and huberh@iu.edu. Please submit a resume and unofficial transcript with your lab application.
  2. Once we review your application, we will contact you. If we are accepting RA's and believe that you may be a good fit, we will set up a meeting and discuss how the lab may best fit your interests.

Objectives for participating in the lab:

  • To provide students with hands-on research skills (e.g., recruitment of participants, data entry).
  • To stimulate critical and creative thinking with regard to issues relevant to clinical psychology.
  • To teach fundamentals of family research and research design.
  • To develop leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills that will be useful for any career path.
  • To introduce students to interdisciplinary research involving collaborations between psychology and family law.
